AROUND TOWN

Blame it on Midnight, one of the staples of Palm Springs dining and nightlife is going through a renaissance. New owners took over 5 months ago and went to work immediately updating the menu and bringing live entertainment to the cabaret.

The new menu runs a wide range of American cuisine with big appetizers and entrees that include soup or salad. Some popular menu items were retained (like the Chicken Breast Supreme and Baby Back Ribs). Others had their recipes upgraded (all their steaks are now 100% certified Angus beef), and some new items are quickly becoming customer favorites. For example, the Osso Buco is outstanding.

They take reservations only for parties of 6 or more, so you may have a short wait during prime dinner hour, but the wait is made enjoyable by the live talent in the lounge area Thursdays through Sundays. Recent performers include Gennine Jackson, Karen Cobb, Diva Denise Carter, Paula Prince and Jeff Diebley. It’s so wonderful to see that space alive again with music, drinks and fun!

Bill and Greg are the two active owners who are always there to make sure your experience is a good one. Friendly, outgoing and quick with a joke – make sure you say “hi” and introduce yourself. Their opinion is that a gay bar/restaurant is more than just a business. It’s also a community center, dating service, hangout and a place to just have fun!

Located at Tahquitz Canyon and El Segundo in The Courtyard Center (where the Regal movie theatres are). Stop by and rediscover this new/old favorite.
